I really wanted to do my part in helping the turtles from the oil spill so I teamed up with these amazing young girls and created a Limited Edition T-shirt to help support their newest venture “Bake for Oceans Sake”! Donations go directly to imms.org for the care and rehabilitation of the sick and injured marine life from the Gulf Coast oil spill tragedy.
Two girls. Thousands of cookies. One goal: Help marine life in the Gulf. Join us! We’re organizing a coast-to-coast, simultaneous bake sale, kicking off on July 9th – National Sugar Cookie Day – to raise money for the care of marine animals affected by the Gulf oil spill. Rally your family, friends and community, bake up some ocean-inspired sugar cookies or your own sweet specialty, sell them (or buy them!) and send your proceeds to the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies. We’ll help you out with tips on everything from sugar cookie recipes to spreading the word for and organizing your own Great Bake for Oceans’ Sake. LET’S GO BAKE!
T-Shirts are FULL COLOR and printed on Organic White cotton shirts- $18.00 each

Save a Turtle!
The Deepwater Horizon oil spill can have the following impacts on sea turtles:
- Oil or dispersants on the sea turtle’s skin and body can cause skin irritation, chemical burns and infections.
- Inhalation of volatile petroleum compounds and dispersants can damage the respiratory tract and lead to diseases such as pneumonia.
- Ingesting oil or dispersants can cause injury to the gastrointestinal tract, which may affect the animals’ ability to absorb or digest food.
- Inhaled or ingested chemicals can damage liver, kidney and brain function, cause anemia and immune suppression, or lead to reproductive failure or death.
- Oil on developing sea turtle nests can increase egg mortality and lead to potential deformities in the hatchlings that do survive.
The Deepwater Horizon oil spill could also destroy important sea turtle habitat areas such as seagrass beds and coral reefs, as well as reduce food availability.
PLEASE HELP!

Saturday, June 12 is Doheny’s increasingly popular Annual Surf-a-rama. This event, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m, will showcase Doheny’s rich surfing history. Exhibits include vintage surfboards and woodies, plus more than 75 vendors displaying their latest surfboards and products. There’s a special area for surf authors and lots of food and entertainment. I will have a booth with Originals, new prints, stationary, and my Tropical Chandeliers!

I originally started from an old ceiling lamp that was given to me. It inspired me to start hand decorating Tropical Chandeliers, lanterns, and earring holders from found objects and silk flowers. Every piece is unique and no two are the same. They are fun pieces for the home and I recommend using a battery operated tea light for the candle holders that I include with each one. Have a look, I will have them at the Blue Laguna show coming up June 3rd. They will be available for purchase! Enjoy! ~Miss H

I wanted to share this video, the first section is Terry Senate and I in his shop talking about my art! (I was a bit nervous and completely forgot to remove my shades, haha!) We were interviewed by SC Times (if your not from here it is the local newspaper here in San Clemente). I thought I would share! The rest is the great Perry Faanes and his Glass Barrel Creations and Terry Senate exhibiting his shaping techniques. ENJOY!

Summer is around the corner and I am trying to enjoy the outdoors as much as I can but still getting work done. I love finding little things in nature that inspire me to create a painting. Funny enough the best flowers I have found are at San Clemente Art Supply, a simply amazing little garden around the storefront and beautiful palms and bamboo at San-O! Here are some little treats….
